The 2005 Chevrolet Corvette
The new 2005 Corvette is redesigned with a new engine, exposed headlights and the
first navigation system offered in Corvette. The car is 5 inches shorter and 1 inch
narrower it has improvements in virtually every area make this the best Corvette
ever. The new LS2 engine produces 400 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft of torque. It is
the largest most powerful standard small-block engine ever offered in Corvette.
The new Hydra-Matic 4L65-E automatic transmission is a beefed up verions of the
4L60-E from the C5. It uses new algorithms developed for high speed driving and
to take advantage of the higher engine output. The tires are 1 inch wider all around
than the C5. The new keyless entry system unlocks the car when you get near it,
it also has keyless push button start. The completely new suspension has been redesigned
to provide excellent handling and a comfortable ride. Three suspensions are available,
the standard for comfort and handling, the selectable Magnetic Selective Ride Control,
and the Z51 Performance package. The Z51 package brings the new base Corvette almost
to the level of the C5 Z06. A new power cinching latch for the rear hatch makes
it much easier to close than the C5.
